EL JALEO STORMS TO VICTORY IN 2025 PHILRACOM
3YO SPRINT RACE

 

MANILA – A thrilling display of speed and dominance electrified the crowd at the Metro Manila Turf Club (MMTCI) last Sunday, 03 August 2025, as El Jaleo, owned and bred by
Benjamin C. Abalos Jr., and guided by star jockey Patricio “Edi Wow” Dilema, clinched a resounding victory in the prestigious PHILRACOM 3YO Sprint Race.

The formidable field of three-year-olds competed for a guaranteed gross prize of PHP 1,000,000.00 over the 1,000-meter sprint. El Jaleo set a blistering pace from the moment
the gates opened, setting impressive quarter clockings of 13, 21′, and 24′, for a final time of 0.59.

Giving chase but unable to match the winner’s raw speed was Diamond Power, who finished a respectable second. Diamond Power, owned by Renzel I. Torres, bred by Melanie C. Habla, and ridden by jockey Ryan Roy M. Garcia.

Circus Crowd, owned by Bianca T. Sevilla and bred by Herminio S. Esguerra, secured third place with jockey Joel L. Siego. The fourth spot went to He’s So Fine, who fought hard for the title. He’s So Fine is owned by James T. Sevilla, bred by Antonio V. Tan Jr., and had John Allyson T. Pabilic as his jockey.
Rounding out the top finishers were Lily Bell in fifth place from the coupled entry of Bell Racing Stable, bred by Elmer Thomas C. de Leon with jockey Jonathan B. Hernandez, followed by the pre-race favorite, Constatic Offer in sixth, owned and bred by Antonio V. Tan Jr., with jockey Oneal P. Cortez.

The field was completed by Gentleman Bell and Coming Earli as seventh and eighth placers.

The PHILRACOM 3YO Sprint Race proved to be a spectacular showcase of the country’s most promising young thoroughbreds, leaving fans eager for the next major event.

The racing community is already buzzing with anticipation for the next big event: the revival of the Ramon D. Bagatsing Memorial Cup on 17 August 2025 (Sunday). This historic race promises another high-stakes showdown, bringing together the nation’s best horses and jockeys for a day of thrilling competition.
