2025 PHILRACOM-PCSO SILVER CUP
Easy Does It Dominance Tested by a Field Hungry for Victory
MANILA – The stage is set for a thrilling showdown this Sunday, 27 July 2025, as the
finest thoroughbreds at the Metro Manila Turf Club, Inc. (MMTCI) for the highly anticipated
2025 PHILRACOM-PCSO Silver Cup. With a race distance of 1800 meters and a
staggering total guaranteed prize of PHP 4,000,000.00, this race promises to be a true
test of speed, stamina, and strategy.
Highlighting a potential repeat victory, “Easy Does It,” owned by 3VM Builders Inc., bred
by Joseph Dyhengco, with jockey John Allyson T. Pabilic, stands out as the reigning
champion of the 2024 PHILRACOM-PCSO Silver Cup. Last year, “Easy Does It” claimed
the prestigious trophy. And, “Boss Emong,” who secured the 2023 Silver Cup, making
“Easy Does It” the most recent victor of this race.
Also, eyes will undoubtedly be on Batang Manda, the reigning champion of this year’s
Gran Copa De Manila. Bred and owned by Benjamin C. Abalos Jr., this powerhouse will
once again be guided by the masterful hands of jockey Patricio “Edi Wow” Dilema. Batang
Manda’s recent triumph has cemented its status as the horse to beat, carrying the hopes
of many racing enthusiasts.
However, the Silver Cup is far from a one-horse race. Hot on Batang Manda’s heels is
Jungkook, owned by Tisha T. Sevilla and bred by Esguerra Farms and Stud. Jungkook,
who was bested by Batang Manda in their last encounter, will be eager for redemption,
with Mark Angelo Alvarez in the irons. This rivalry is sure to add an extra layer of
excitement to the event.
Another formidable challenger is Istulen Ola, bred and owned by Melaine C. Habla, with Pablito M. Cabalejo poised to navigate the track. Not to be underestimated is the strong contender Basheirrou, owned by Rancho Santa Rosa, Inc. and also bred by Melaine C. Habla, who will have jockey Jonathan B. Hernandez. Basheirrou’s consistent performance makes it a serious threat to the top honors.
The competitive field is further bolstered by a lineup of talented contenders, each vying for their moment of glory, Ghost, bred and owned by SC Stockfarm, Inc., with John Alvin Guce on board; Moderne Legacy, owned and bred by Leonardo M. Javier Jr., to be ridden by Jomer M. Estorque; and Sonic Clay, owned by Aldrich C. Tan, bred by Esguerra Farms and Stud, Inc., with Christian Reyes guiding.
As the horses thunder down the stretch at MMTCI, the pivotal question looms: Will “Easy Does It” repeat its dominant performance and once again be crowned champion of the 2025 PHILRACOM-PCSO Silver Cup? Or will Batang Manda continue its triumphant streak, or perhaps one of its determined rivals rise to the occasion and claim victory?
Sunday promises a spectacle of speed, strategy, and heart, as the best of Philippine horse racing battle it out for ultimate supremacy. Don’t miss it!
