MANILA – Get ready for an exhilarating day at the races! The 2024 Philracom-PCSO “2YO Maiden Stakes Race” is set to take place this Sunday, August 25, 2024, at MMTCI in Malvar, Batangas. This thrilling event, in partnership with the Philippine Charity and Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), boasts an impressive guaranteed prize of PHP 1,500,000 for the winners, distributed from 1st to 4th place. Additionally, a breeder’s purse of PHP150,000 will be awarded to the top three placers.

Seven promising young horses will make their debut, each vying for victory and a chance to leave their mark on the racetrack. The contenders include Binibining Marikit, owned by Mark Ryan B. Ponce and ridden by PM Cabalejo; Black Widow, owned by James Albert C. Dichaves and ridden by BJB Galleta; Catania, owned by Luis Angelo L. Sevilla and ridden by JT Pabilic; Constatic Offer, owned by Antonio V. Tan Jr. and ridden by OP Cortez; District One, owned by SC Stockfarm, Inc. and ridden by JA Guce; and stablemates Easy Go Lucky and Easy Money, owned by 3VM Builders Inc. and ridden by JM Estorque and NC Lunar, respectively. Colts like Easy Go Lucky and Easy Money will carry a handicap weight of 54kgs, while the fillies will race at 52kgs.

But that’s not all! The same day will feature the highly anticipated 2024 Philracom “4YO Sprint Race,” covering a distance of 1,000 meters. This race offers a total guaranteed prize of PHP 300,000 and a breeder’s purse of PHP 30,000.

Five formidable horses will compete in this sprint, including Secretary, owned by Ronaldo David and ridden by JT Zarate, winner of the Gran Copa de Manila; Istulen Ola, owned by Melaine Habla and ridden by JA Guce, third place at Gran Copa de Manila; Gusto Mucho, owned by Running Rich Racing Inc. and handled by PR Dilema, sixth place in the Commissioner’s Cup II; Sky Story, owned by Mark Ryan Ponce and ridden by PM Cabalejo, eighth place in Classic Cup III; and Basheirrou, owned by Rancho Santa Rosa and ridden by JB Hernandez, the 2022 1st and 2nd Leg Triple Crown winner.
