August 9 was a red-letter day for Philippine horseracing as the very first Off-Track Betting Station was inaugurated in Iloilo.

The Gambit OTB formally opened its doors to racing afficionados in the island last Wednesday and was attended by countless kareristas led by its owner Carlo Armada and Philippine Racing Commission Chairman Aurelio P. De Leon.

Armada mentioned, “It is an honor for us that we in Iloilo are the first ones in the Visayas to have an OTB. We have always been fascinated by the excitement that horseracing brings to the public.”

On his part, Chairman de Leon said, “The opening of this OTB is a big step forward in bringing Philippine horseracing across the islands and we expect that there will be other OTB’s to follow in the rest of the country.”

Gambit OTB is located in the Salazar Building across the Cabatuan Public Market.
