Freedom Cup: Yes Pogi, Barkley

Race track rivals Yes Pogi ang Barkley are among the ten runners that will battle for top honors in the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office Freedom Cup at Santa Ana Park in Naic, Cavite Today.

However, they will have to contend with the challenges thrown by upstarts Cheese Mosa ang Arvin Dugo, both of which have been posting good times lately.

The mile stakes race commemorates the 26th anniversary of the People Power Revolution of 1986.

The race drew an action-packed lineup of Philippine-bred and island born runners who will compete for the top prize of P700,000; Attty Sixto Esquivias IV's coupled entries Arvin Dugo (to be ridden by jockey Joanthan Hernandez with a handicap weights of 54.4 kgs.) and Cheese Mosa (Rodeo Fernandez 53); Herminio Esguerra's Go Army (Jesse Guce, 55.5); Dominic Francisco's Wind Turbulence (Jordan Cordova, 55.5); Emmanuel R. King Jr.'s Money Queen (Dominador Borbe, Jr. 54); Rita Pilapil's Heaven Sent (mark Alvarez, 55) and Joshua's Laughter (John Arvin Guce, 56); Mayor Benhur Abalos's Barkley (Kelvin Abobo, 54.5); Francis G. Lim's Yes Pogi (Jeffril Zarate, 55); and Nathaniel Velasco's The Rock (Patricio Dilema 54.5).

The prizes for placers are: 2nd, P300,000; 3rd, P175,000; and 4th, P85,000. There is a purse of P50,000 for the winning horse's breeder.
