The Philippine Racing Commission for the second consecutive assesment/revalidation by the Civil Service Commission has achieved Level II - Accredited Status. The recognition was awarded to the PHILRACOM by the Civil Service Commission at the CSC-NCR/CSC Field Office - Development Bank of the Philippines last February 27, 2013.
Under Memonrandum Circular 3 series of 2012, Agencies succesfully satisfying certain criterias are awarded recognition/status with Levels of Accreditaion by the CSC. The Level II (Accredited) Status are awarded to agencies satisfactory implementing CSC Human Resource Management Systems/Programs and are therefore granted the authority to take final action on appointments.

The Philippine Horse Racing Industry profoundly acknowledges the importance of the Philippine Red Cross as the premier humanitarian organization that provides adequate, quality and safe blood supply in order to protect the life and dignity of the countless individuals.
As part of this recognition, the Philippine Horse Racing Industry, through the auspices of the PHILRACOM and the Manila Jockey Club, Inc., donated to the Philippine Red Cross thru the “Blood Samaritan Program” a subsidy to cover for the blood processing fees of our indigent fellowmen. "2013 Racing Calendar" A Call For Unity and Cooperation Amongst The Racing Industry

The Commission spearheaded another milestone in Philippine horseracing during the drafting and approval of the "2013 Racing Calendar".
After series of meetings and deliberations with the respected top brass of the three (3) Racing Clubs, namely: Manila Jockey Club, Inc (MJCI), the Philippine Racing Club, Inc. (PRCI) and the newly established Metro Manila Turf Club, Inc. (MMTCI), the "2013 Racing Calendar" was officially approved last November 20, 2012 at the PHILRACOM Board Room.
A "Power Point" presentation by Commissioner/Executive Director Engr. Jesus B. Cantos, featured the details of the proposed schedule of races for the "2013 Racing Calendar". Also discussed were the pros & cons of the drafted schedule and the sustainability of the runners for viable operation of the Racing Clubs. Highlight of the activity was the official signing by the officers and representatives of the Racing Clubs, in confirmation to the final racing calendar. PHILRACOM Long Term Project : “Nurturing The Local Horse Breeding Industry”

The Commission invited respected stakeholders of the breeding industry last April 30, Monday, 2:00 pm at the PHILRACOM Board Room. The Committee tagged as “Philippine Race Horses Breeding Committee” was formally constituted with the objective as per subject heading and be part of the group to discuss this important direction.
The PHILRACOM is preparing for the eventual operation of the third race track which was awarded with a “Congressional Franchise” and is now in its final phase of construction at Malvar-Tanauan, Batangas. One imminent and alarming assessment will be the shortage of runners due to the current state the horse racing industry is into particular to the population, production and attrition of runners.
